The University of Johannesburg is sitting comfortably in first place on the Pirates Grand Challenge log after two rounds in the competition, followed by the open clubs, Wanderers and Pirates in second and third place repectively. The UJ’s Ratels have a points difference of exactly 100 points after two run-away victories against Alberton and Johannesburg Police while Wanderers points difference on 48 in one better than than of Pirates. Raiders are in fourth place on the log with seven followed by Wits and NWU-Puk who have only played one match each.
None of the other clubs, Randfontein, Alberton, Bobbies, Roodepoort and Union have won a game yet. Raiders controversially lost 43-41 to the Pukke in Potch this past weekend after a ruling that their final conversion went under the cross-bar. A successful kick would have meant an extra point on the log.
This past weekend’s results:
Wanderers 29 Randfontein 24
Pukke 43 Raiders 41
Roodepoort 18 Wits 36
Alberton 26 Pirates 49
UJ 52 JHB Police 16
