My job is my dream come true, I am the Personal Assistant to Lions Rugby Company CEO Rudolf Straeuli! When I received a call in December 2013 that a Creditors Clerk position was vacant and would I be interested in applying for the position, I was ecstatic!

When I received a call in December 2013 that a Creditors Clerk position was vacant and would I be interested in applying for the position, I was ecstatic as it was a dream of mine to be able to work for my favorite rugby team. I was employed in 2014 and have not looked back.

I was in the finance department for two and a half years before I was appointed as Personal Assistant to the CEO. This was another dream come true. What a privilege for me to become his PA.

My job entails me to assist with daily duties and setting up of meetings and admin work.

I am the contact for all the sponsors come match day while I distribute all invitations for the Presidential and Platinum Suites and host the guests in the Presidential Suite.  I love hosting guests as I am a people’s person and meeting new people is so interesting.

When it comes to Test matches, I assist SA Rugby with the allocation of their Parking tickets and again help with the Presidential Suite.

When I think back on my career at the Lions, the first thing that comes to mind is the amount of love I received when I was employed. With me being such an avid supporter, it made me realize why I loved this team so much. What they portray on the field they also was also portray off the field.

Our three companies, the Lions Rugby Company, EPS (Pty) Ltd and the GLRU are a close-knit family and the bond that exists between staff, management and players is very strong.

One of the highlights of my career thus far is winning the Currie Cup in 2015 against Western Province at Emirates Airline Park in front of a home crowd. This was the year we won all twelve our games. The other highlight was reaching the Vodacom Super Rugby finals three years in a row.

I would love everyone to see the Lions as a franchise that puts God first in all that they do, whether it be on or off the field and we will always rise up stronger than before.
