The Lions star, fresh from a victorious performance with the Emirates Lions in the Vodacom United Rugby Championship against Welsh team Dragons this past Saturday, made the short trip to London from Newport to link up with the Springbok Sevens.

Speaking on his call-up, Jordan Hendrikse expressed his delight on joining the Blitzboks in the UK for this weekend’s leg of the HSBC London Sevens.

“I am very excited about the opportunity, said the Lions’ number 10. The Blitzboks are an iconic team, having brought smiles to the faces of many rugby fans over the years.”

“I look forward to experiencing the fast-paced version of the game, he said.  Given the opportunity, it will allow me to experience a different approach and hopefully grow my game in various aspects.”

The HSBC Sevens is well known for its electric atmosphere and Hendrikse is relishing the opportunity to experiencing it as a player for the first time.

“The fans on Sevens circuit create an unbelievable vibe at matches, which makes it an even bigger motivation for players and viewers at home. London is a world class city, so I look forward to experiencing all it has to offer,” he concluded.
