The Emirates Lions notched up their second win of their 3-week tour against Cardiff Rugby on Friday night.

The Emirates Lions notched up their second win of their 3-week tour against Cardiff Rugby on Friday night. The team from Johannesburg continued from where they left off against Ospreys the previous win to complete a stunning 31-18 victory at Cardiff Arms Park. 

 

Head Coach Ivan van Rooyen:

“The most pleasing for me is how the guys are fighting and grinding it out for 80 minutes, so we are really proud of the effort against Cardiff Rugby tonight.,” said Van Rooyen. 

“The first 40-50 minutes was by the toughest conditions we’ve faced since the start of the Vodacom United Rugby Championship, so again, hats off to the guys for getting through it and producing the result,” he concluded. 

The Emirates Lions next travel to Scotland where they face Edinburgh at the Dam Health Stadium on Friday, 7 October.
